Colour renewal varies from guest to guest depending on the desired result and your hair’s current colour and condition.

Usually a colour renewal involves gently stripping your hair of any current colour,  followed by a full colour service which could be an all-over colour, highlights or Balayage depending on the look and tones you want to achieve.

To ensure hair isn’t damaged by the process and stays in tip-top condition, colour renewal takes time and care,  and this is reflected in the appointment length and cost.

Colour renewals usually take around 4.5hours (including colour development time and professional blow dry or haircut).

Colour renewal maintenance

Ongoing maintenance very much depends on the technique used and the finished look.

For example, if we recommend Balayage as the right technique for the look you want, then  maintenance can be up to 12 weeks. However, if an all-over colour is the right choice for you then maintenance appointments are needed at 4 – 6-week intervals.

Blow dry options for colour services

At both James Dun’s House salons we offer blow dry options when you book a colour service.

If you’re in a hurry you have complimentary use of our self-dry zone – saving you time & money.

However, if you are a blow dry junkie, our styling experts are on hand to create a beautiful professional blow dry or haircut.

Just let us know which is your preferred option when booking your colour appointment.

Colour allergy test

Even the gentlest professional colour can sometimes cause an allergic reaction. At James Dun’s House salons your wellbeing and safety is paramount:  if you’ve not had your hair coloured with us in the last 6 months we give you a complimentary skin test prior to your colour appointment.

Please pop into the salon for a skin test at least 48 hours before your hair colour appointment. It only takes a minute, and you can come in at anytime and don’t need an appointment.  For your safety we are unable to colour your hair until we’ve tested you.
